A handsome reclaimed wood bench made of White Oak. These heavy Old growth hand cut beams were reclaimed from the old Wisconsin log cabin pictured here. The trees were cut by hand and the beams shaped with great effort by farmers/builders more than one hundred years ago. Each log was hewed to about 5 inches thick and then the top and bottom edges were sculpted to fit into each other.  This method of construction required an unusual amount of skill and resulted in far fewer drafty cracks to fill with chinking than the standard log cabin. Cabins like this will never be built again. We appreciate the efforts that went into creating the dairy state and offer you a little token of this effort.

length 36"
depth 16"
Height 16" or 18" with pipe legs, 16" with the flat steel legs

WOOD FINISHES
This bench is finished in our Heritage color.  All our finishes are the best environmentally friendly low VOC finishes made to protect the environment and provide us with a healthy workplace. They are water resistant but not waterproof and are not suitable for outdoor use.

Interested in a custom piece? We have a limited amount of these beams available and would be happy to create something special for you. Drop us a line and inquire. Each piece IS DIFFERENT and has its own quirks and flaws. Like all reclaimed, upcycled, repurposed and recycled products there are cracks, nails holes, axe marks, and knotholes. It's not Ikea.

Each piece is handcrafted and made sustainably with reclaimed wood from barns across the upper Midwest.
