Handy bookshelf or curio cabinet with a little history. Giving these hundred year old parts a new life. Like all reclaimed, upcycled, repurposed and recycled products there are flaws and nicks and holes. It's not Ikea.

HISTORY
These window sashes came from a nationally listed Historic Building (NRHP Reference #03001167). Built in 1906 it serviced tobacco farmers for four generations before closing for good just after the turn of the century.

MATERIALS USED
The sashes are Wisconsin Northern White Pine
The back is reclaimed pallet stock
The sides and shelves are reclaimed white pine trim boards from the same windows.

SPECIFICATIONS
3 by 2 lite arrangement
Height: 27"
Width: 26"
Depth: 6.25"
Approximate weight: 17 pounds
Comes with mounting holes drilled into the back

FINISHES
The window sash was scrubbed and the glass & glazing putty removed. Then we scraped and sanded with three grits of paper. Next a generous coating of urethane oil for protection and color, a light sanding and a final coat of Danish Oil. Other milk paint colors are available.
This old pine is remarkably dense and was a joy to work with once the paint was planed off. There is a limited amount of this wood available and I was pleased to be able to put the window and its trim back together for another generation.

SHIPPING
We will get it out the door as quickly as possible. It takes a day to box it up and arrange for a pickup then out it goes. Usually we ship Federal Express Residential Delivery which gets things about anywhere in the US in less than three days. Of course they offer faster shipping and overseas shipping too, send us an email inquiry. Making things to order takes a little longer and we will make every effort to get it out the door in a week.
